Background
Freelancing from 1993 to the present day
Dynastream was established in 1993 sub-contracting work through agencies and employment businesses.
The challenging nature of today's business environment: globalisation of job markets via the internet, outsourcing to cheaper foreign markets, and fierce competition have taken its toll on the traditional structures and models of the IT supply business. In particular, the landscape and mechanisms of freelancing has suffered and changed significantly. There are fewer available contracts, an increase in inlegislation, highly specialised requirements, high competition, and a large undercurrent of fast-paced technological change.
In the last decade, agencies were more informal, personal, often with a good reputation in hospitality. These have now almost all but disappeared, replaced by larger, more competitive and automated businesses.
Today's recruitment and supply business is typically about scale, margins, and domination of the market. Most current corporate recruitment and human resource supply is through large-scale agencies and outsourcing companies. In contrast to the previous decade where greater direct recruitment was prevalent.
Since the turn of the millenium, there has been a fall-out and many freelance operators have disappeared or moved on to alternative industries. However, despite a very difficult market, there are signs that this situation is now starting to be reversed.
A commitment to Freelance IT/IS
Dynastream is still committed to working with agencies, but it is also independent of that structure and model. As a company, we will never grow beyond a certain size and currently have no plans or to do so, because we do not need to.
This however, does place us under certain constraints. We would therefore ask that if you find our website/services useful, that you consider continuing your support by buying or purchasing through us. This may be either through our services, affiliate store, or through our partners via this website.
