Data
Distinct pieces or bits of information.

Database
A collection of data arranged for ease and speed of search and retrieval. Also called a databank.

Data Migration
In general, it is the process of transforming data from one format into another. In practice this can involve different machine platforms and/or applications.

Data Mining
The analysis of data in a database using tools that search for trends or anomalies.

Data Warehouse
a store of data designed to support management decisions. Data warehouses contain a variety of data that presents a model of the business and conditions at an instant in time.

DBMS
A Database Management System is a program that lets one or more computer users create and access data in a database.

DB2™ Database
A relational database management system (DBMS) from IBM, which runs on mainly on IBM platforms. The unix version of the database is known as DB2 UDB - Universal Database.

DSDM
Dynamic Systems Development Method (DSDM), is a software development approach originally based on the Rapid Application Development methodology (RAD). It is an approach that is iterative and incremental and involves continuous user involvement.
